Polk County Contacts

This is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot verify who is in custody, arrange a release, accept bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office that created or holds the record for those services.

Booking and Court Records

For a current custody question, a county booking record, or a request for an identification photograph that is public and retained, use the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The county identifies the sheriff as the custodian of the jail and prisoners, but its public site does not show a verified live inmate roster or booking feed. Direct requests should identify the person and a narrow date range so the office can identify an existing record.

A case filed after a booking belongs in the court path. The county directory lists Jodie L. Roberts as Clerk of District Court, Clerk Magistrate, and Jury Commissioner. Search the statewide Nebraska JUSTICE service for a case history, then contact the clerk when a court record or procedure is needed.

For routine navigation, the home page explains the county’s official-first records path and the distinction between a booking, a release, a court disposition, and state custody. The Most Wanted page explains the safe sheriff-and-court route for checking a possible warrant when no public Polk County warrant portal has been verified.

  • Ask the sheriff about a current booking, a bounded admissions or releases period, or an existing booking record.
  • Use JUSTICE for a filed case and later court disposition, not as proof of current jail custody.
  • Use the NDCS search for sentenced state custody, not for a recent Polk County jail booking.
  • Call 911 for an emergency. Do not use a website form to report an immediate safety issue.

Osceola publishes (402) 747-2241 for civil process, gun permits, and title inspections during weekday business hours. It specifically says that number is not for incident reporting. Use 911 or the sheriff’s dispatch contact above for emergency or dispatch needs.
